One key ingredient in a successful community association is active involvement by members in the committees. Canterbury Farms Community Association started active committees in October 2008 and the volunteers so far have been committed to trying to increase communications, safety and community involvement.
• Works with San Antonio Police Department, the SAPD SAFFE (San Antonio Fear Free Environment) Officer to learn about ways to keep our community safe.
• Cellular on Patrol (COP) volunteers observe and report suspicious activities to SAPD.
• Prepares quarterly newsletters to keep the community informed of any special events, general information, etc.
• Uses a variety of media to keep members informed about community events.
• Organizes social events in the community such as San Antonio Neighbors Together, (formerly National Night Out.)
• Organizes events to help encourage neighborhood beautification.
Architectural Control Committee
• Assesses home owner planned landscaping, architectural improvements

• Observes and reports violations to the association manager to encourage compliance with neighborhood deed restrictions and city ordinances.
